Who would have thought a year ago, that we would be here together?
I look back in time and we've known each other for so long.
We each had our own lives and always stayed in touch
I never thought that as time passed, you'd grow to mean so much..

A friendly phone call, I needed your help.
I never dreamed having dinner with you
Would lead us to where we are today
Celebrating our first year on this special day.

The odds were stacked against us, me with three children
You longing to have a family of your own
Working for competitors didn't make things easy,
But through it all, our love has grown.

It's hard to believe a year has now passed
Since I first looked in your eyes
And knew in my heart that I loved you,
And we all know the heart never lies.

The past year has dealt us so much.
There were times I thought we'd never get through.
Sickness, hardships, a car accident and more
And the times I've felt alone were some few.

Until I met you, my life wasn't complete.
There was always something missing, a void I could not fill.
And now with you standing beside me,
It all seems so much easier, each mountain a mere hill.

Now, as I reflect back, the happiness that you 
Have filled me with stands out as if sent from above
I thank you for everything you have given me,
Your heart, your faith, your trust, and most importantly, your love.

With all this said, I especially want to thank you for your patience.
You have stood by me through all the pain.
Through all the sunshine and the rain.
You never let me give up, and have always encouraged me.

And thank you for the time... the time to pursue my passion.
The Garden of Friendship is another love in my life.
You accept the time and dedication I have devoted to it,
And the love and the friendships I have found and invested there.

You can always light up my face with a smile,
I look into your eyes and all my troubles fade away.
I can't express how much you've grown to mean to me
And my love for you grows stronger with each passing day!
